Jon Thompson, President and Chief Executive Officer
Jon Thompson became Opportunity Partners' Chief Executive Officer/President in November of 1998, after seven years as the Chief Executive Officer of Hammer Residences in Wayzata. Jon has extensive experience in health care management, including nursing homes, retirement projects, supports for persons with developmental disabilities and mental health. Among his degrees and certifications are four from the University of St. Thomas: an MBA, a master's degree in special education, bachelor's degree in art, and bachelor's degree in accounting. He is a licensed and Certified Public Accountant and certified administrator. As CEO/President, Jon directs an executive team of dedicated professionals and an annual organizational budget of $27 million. Jon is the former president of the Wayzata Rotary Club and an active member of the Association of Residential Resources in Minnesota and the Minnesota Association of Community Rehabilitation Organizations. Jon also serves on the Program Committee of the Minneapolis Club. In 2006, he was appointed to the Governor's Workforce Development Council.
George Klauser , Chairman of the Board of Directors
George J. Klauser is Vice President responsible for worldwide customer service for XIOtech Corporation. He has nearly 30 years of service and sales operations experience in information services. He has been an active volunteer for various programs supporting greater independence of children and young adults with special needs. Since joining the Opportunity Partners Board of Directors, he has served as Vice Chairman and Secretary and has also been a member of the Executive, Human Resources and Advancement committees. George has a daughter with Cerebral Palsy and provides great insight to the importance of transitioning young adults into programs that help build their future as successful adults.
